Since Routes started in September 2016, we’ve supported 206 people in Brighton and Hove and West Sussex to kick-start their journey to getting work.
We’re so proud of the people who have accessed support from Routes and gone on to achieve their work goals and ambitions! So far, of the people we’ve supported:
0Were unemployed or long-term unemployed
0Were economically inactive or not in education or training
The goals and ambitions they’ve achieved have been incredible,
with many people completing a range of learning activities, courses, training and 1:1 dedicated support.
Of these brilliant and ambitious people:
0People moved into education or training
0People entered into employment
0People who were previously economically active are now actively searching for a job
And the personal benefits have been huge:
0People have engaged in learning opportunities, Information, Advice and Guidance and supported to address at least one barrier to moving into work or learning
0People have reported meeting new people, increasing their social networks or started volunteering
0People have reported an increased ability to address setbacks
0People report increased self-confidence
0People report improved work/life skills
0People report an increased ability to access learning, personal development and employment
0People report having gained increased employability
“Without the support of Routes I would not have been able to do the course”. She also said that regular meetings with her Routes Co-ordinator, Mirco, were helpful. “He cares about his interns and gives a lot of thought as to how he can get the best out of us”. More good news was to follow, at the end of her internship she was offered a full–time paid job as Project Officer within the same organisation. “I couldn’t be happier…..I am exactly where I wanted to be”
Routes to Success – celebrating our first three years

The report explores the overall impact of Routes, the different ways our partners offer support, interviews staff and stakeholders, and includes case studies and interviews with participants.
The evaluation was undertaken by Work & Learning Opportunities c.i.c between March 2018 and February 2019.
